✅ MAJOR MARKETING GIMMICKS

Our intention is only to show the current fake marketing gimmicks not to defame the product/company or labs, to avoid legal actions we redesigned the format of pictures, lab reports and clinical trail reports with actual readings.

1. ❌ REMOVES TOXIC GASES IN 15 MINS :

Many brands claim that their non-electric car air purifiers can eliminate almost all toxic gases within 15 minutes. However, their laboratory data and reports indicate otherwise: these products typically require around 6 hours to remove only 45%–68% of toxic gases, about 12 hours to achieve 87%–90% removal, and up to 18 hours to reach 99.9% purification.
But Brand experiments, often demonstrated through timelapse, suggest that the product removes almost all toxic gases within 15 minutes. However, their lab report readings indicate that only 2.76% of toxic gases are actually removed in that time (15 mins).
By showing these type of fake experiments and paid promotions they are misleading the customers and trying to prove that their products are good to remove toxic gases inside the car in 15 mins.

LAB TEST COST FOR 6 GASES (Limited Gas Testing)

The cost for testing 6 toxic gases are 42,480 rupees only.We took a quotation from this same testing labs to show you that how much cost for testing these 6 toxic gases. We are not blaming these labs because they have limitations for testing all TVOC's and other gases.(All TVOC's gases will not spike while testing, these testing labs have limitations)

2. ❌ AIR QUALITY DETECTORS / MONITORS :

Many brands use low-quality AQI detectors in their videos to claim that their non electric car air purifier products remove toxic gases within seconds or minutes. Based on available data these detectors often have alcohol sensors, and the demonstration is manipulated by spraying alcohol inside the vehicle to create a false pollution reading. As a result, the device shows a “serious” AQI level, misleading people about the product’s actual effectiveness.
Advertisement videos shows that cars using the brand’s product are free from all toxic gases inside the car, while cars without the product contain high levels of toxic gases.
By showing these type of fake ads experiments and paid promotions they are misleading the customers and trying to prove that their products are good to remove toxic gases inside the car in 15 mins.

AQI Readings Sample A : All these readings taken from one video (First Video)

Based on available data, HCHO = 196 and it becomes GOOD

Based on available data, HCHO = 16 and it becomes SERIOUS...How?

Based on available data, HCHO = 18 and it becomes MODERATE .... How?

AQI Readings Sample B : All these readings taken from one video (Second Video)

Based on available data, HCHO = 144 and it becomes SERIOUS

Based on available data, HCHO = 145 and it becomes MODERATE .... How?

Based on available data, HCHO = 164 and it becomes GOOD .... How?

These links demonstrate why we do not trust low-quality AQI detectors/monitors. They gives inaccurate readings and can be easily manipulated. They show how readings can be artificially increased using alcohol or by burning paper (CO₂). Many companies use such methods inside normal cars (without brand product) to falsely show that the air is highly polluted.
The links below explain the different types of low-quality AQI detectors, how these devices can be manipulated, and why relying on low-quality AQI detectors may not be trustworthy.

3. ❌ CLINICALLY PROVEN PRODUCT - (CLINICAL STUDY / CLINICAL TRAIL) :

Many brands claim that they have conducted clinical trials (CTRI registered and trails run in C grade hospitals or nursing homes) and proven that their products prevents motion sickness. However, a car air purifier falls under the non-medical equipment category or if we considered as medical equipment still, meaning it can obtain clinical trial approval from authorities (IEC) without strict scrutiny, as it does not come into direct contact with skin or blood (drug trail). Therefore, its use does not pose direct risks to C grade hospitals or nursing homes. It depends on how your research consultancy and hospital collaborate to fabricate results and produce convincing documentation.
Impregnated activated carbon is already known for its ability to absorb toxic gases and unpleasant odors inside vehicles. Because of these established properties, clinical trial authorities may not strongly question claims related to motion sickness prevention. However, such approvals do not necessarily confirm real effectiveness. Since these products are unlikely to cause death or serious side effects, there is no liability for hospitals or nursing homes, even if approvals are granted based on weak evidence. This loophole is often exploited by some brands to mislead customers.
In many cases, brands conduct low-standard clinical trials in C grade hospitals or nursing homes, where costs are significantly lower (around ₹3.5 lakhs) compared to reputed institutions (₹20 lakhs - ₹1 Crore+).These facilities often lack strong authenticity, and their ethical committees may operate in favor of client expectations rather than strict scientific standards.
Besides most of all brands published these type of non authentic clinical trail in any of indexed or non indexed scientific, peer-reviewed medical journals like Journal of Population Therapeutics and Clinical Pharmacology (JPTCP).
Cost for Article Processing Fees by author directly - (APC) ₹15,000 approx for Indian authors.
Cost for Article Processing Fees by consultancy - (APC) ₹1 lakh for Indian authors.
Brands want to show that their clinical trails are published in medical journal, this is the best way to mislead customers and sell their products widely.
📊 JPTCP Indexing & Credibility (Important point ⚠️)
Previously indexed in:
Scopus (till 2022)
Web of Science ESCI (till 2023)
PubMed/MEDLINE (till 2023)
Currently NOT indexed in anyone
👉 This means:
The Journal of Population Therapeutics and Clinical Pharmacology is a medical research journal focused on drug therapy and patient outcomes, but its current academic credibility is debated due to loss of major indexing. JPTCP is not trustworthy enough for serious academic use anymore.

CLINICAL TRAIL STUDY COST FOR CAR MOTION SICKNESS BY USING HANGING REAR MIRROR CAR AIR PURIFIER

We took a quotation from this same clinical trail consultancy to show you that how much cost for car motion sickness clinical trail study at aluva nursing home. We are not blaming these consultancies they have multiple authentic hospitals for clinical trails study but some brands demands for lower cost and result adjustments.

Clinical Study/Clinical Trail Reports Picture A

The brands claims that it can Prevent Motion Sickness; however, the available data and reports indicate that it can only Minimize/Reduce Motion Sickness after 18 hours.
This raises a key concern: how can complete prevention be achieved when the product requires up to 18 hours to purify 99.9% of toxic gases inside a car under normal conditions? Additionally, since toxic gases are continuously generated within vehicles on a daily basis, the overall effectiveness and practicality of such a claim remain questionable.
Conclusion published in the clinical trail report:Advertisement published on social medias:

Brands are aware that its product achieves only 2.76% purification in 15 minutes and 11.5% in one hour, based on linear removal rates observed in lab tests.
While the claim of “minimizing motion sickness” may be technically valid, the time required to achieve meaningful results is a significant concern.
Laboratory data shows that it takes approximately 6 hours to reach 66.3% purification and 18 hours to reach 99.9% purification. Given this performance, the brand cannot reasonably claim that the product “prevents motion sickness.”
Do you think 11.5% in 1 hour purify can remove all toxic gases inside the car ?
But brand claims that their product can purify all toxic gases in 15 mins...How ?

Clinical Study/Clinical Trail Reports Picture B

Non-electric impregnated activated carbon car air purifiers are Non-Medical Products. Just because they are sold in medical shops does not mean they are recommended by doctors or healthcare professionals. Some brands mislead customers by creating the impression that their products are medical-grade products simply because they are available in medical stores. Nowadays, many regular FMCG products such as shampoos, soaps, and candies are also sold in medical shops.
Some brands also use paid actors dressed as doctors or hire real doctors for promotional advertisements to influence customers.
Based on available data, certain brands claim that their products can “prevent motion sickness” and are recommended by doctors or healthcare professionals. Such claims can be misleading. These products should not be used as the primary solution for motion sickness problems. Travelers should follow proper medical advice and use appropriate anti-vomiting or motion sickness medicines when necessary.
Laboratory data shows that it takes approximately 6 hours to reach 66.3% purification and 18 hours to reach 99.9% purification. Given this performance, the brand cannot reasonably claim that the product “prevents motion sickness.”

This is how brands are misleading customers telling their product is recommended by doctors & healthcare professionals ?

Clinical Study/Clinical Trail Reports Picture C

Based on available data, Clinical trial observations clearly state that 99.9% reduction in most toxic gases is achieved only after 18 hours. So, two key points are clear:
Both lab reports and clinical trial data are consistent, confirming and approving that 99.9% toxic gas reduction occurs only after 18 hours.
Since toxic gases are generated on a daily basis and the product requires 18 hours to achieve this level of purification, it raises the question—how can the product effectively prevent motion sickness?

Clinical Study/Clinical Trail Reports Picture D

Based on available data this report shows that the clinical trail was held at a Nursing Home.
Brands conduct low-standard clinical trials in C grade hospitals or nursing homes, where costs are significantly lower (around ₹3.5 lakhs) compared to reputed institutions (₹20 lakhs - ₹1 Crore+).Since these products are unlikely to cause death or serious side effects, there is no liability for hospitals or nursing homes, even if approvals are granted based on weak evidence. These facilities often lack strong authenticity, and their ethical committees may operate in favor of client expectations rather than strict scientific standards.

Clinical Study/Clinical Trail Reports Picture E

Based on available data this report shows that the clinical trail was held at a Nursing Home.

Clinical Study/Clinical Trail Reports Picture F

Based on available data this report shows that the clinical trail was held at a Nursing Home.

Based on available lab data and publicly disclosed results, this product shows limited effectiveness over short durations. In my opinion, claims about preventing motion sickness may be overstated.

4. ❌ PATENTED PRODUCT :

Patent Data Picture A

Brands Claims:

The patent-holding brand states that the present innovation non-electric air purifier is designed for installation (mounted) on the vehicle dashboard and is not intended to be hanged from the rearview mirror.
The patent-holding brand is aware that optimal performance is achieved when the device is mounted on the dashboard rather than hanged from the rearview mirror. However, despite this understanding, the product is marketed for rearview mirror use. This raises a question regarding the rationale behind such positioning....why they sell their products for hanging in rear mirror?
= The  First Layer : Linen Cloth (Normal cloth used for apparels)
= The  Second Layer : Mesh Fabric (The material appears to be a type of mesh fabric, often made from nylon or polyester. This specific type is commonly used for pockets on backpacks and other gear due to its breathability and elasticity)
= The Third Layer : Kada Cloth (Kada cloth (often spelled Gada or Kaada) it is frequently used as a cleaning cloth, for making kerchiefs, pillow covers, and even as a traditional idly cloth for steaming food. Also making traditional Indian attire like kurtas, jackets, and handloom dhotis (Mundu)
= The Final Layer : Brand claims that it consists of 2 or more layers adjacently placed and actively impregnated with carbon medium. It contains honeycomb structured uniform size granules on its surface that enable more comprehensive adsorption of hazardous gases like HCHO,TVOCs,NO,NH3,CO.Additionally this layer exhibits the higest surface area, iodine value and contains low ash content.

Facts and Truth:

We cannot physically see the Final Layer in the product because it is an imaginary layer.
In reality, there is no combination of multiple layers (2 or more layers). Instead, they simply fill in the Third Layer with a combination of (HSK,CSK,AMMINOSORB), which are standard impregnated activated carbons sourced from Active Char Products (Binanipuram, Kochi, Total 1000 rupees/kg for all 3 types; ie 333 rupees per varient). Moreover, the patent-holding brand does not know how many metal oxides are used in these three types of carbons by the Active Char Products manufacturer.
Active Char Products (Binanipuram, Kochi) has never disclosed how many metal oxides are used in their impregnated activated carbons. Therefore, the patent-holding brand has also not disclosed or published the number of metal oxides used in their air purifier.
We also purchase three types of carbons from Active Char Products (Binanipuram, Kochi), and they have never disclosed how many metal oxides are used in their impregnated activated carbons. They state that this information is their trade secret.

Patent Data Picture B

Brand Claims:

Patent holding brand claims that UV light (UVa, UVb and UVc bands) from sunlight can recharge the impregnated activated carbon within 1 or 2 hours once in a month.

Facts and Truth:

According to WHO, As sunlight passes through the atmosphere, all UVc and approximately 90% of UVb radiation is absorbed by ozone, water vapour, oxygen and carbon dioxide. UVa radiation is less affected by the atmosphere. Therefore, the UV radiation reaching the Earth’s surface is largely composed of UVa with a small UVb component.

Role Of UV Rays ☀️

UV rays (UVA/UVB) have very little effect on activated carbon regeneration.
Reasons:
= Activated carbon absorbs UV strongly
= UV cannot penetrate deep micropores
= Most adsorbed pollutants remain trapped
UV only helps if a photocatalyst like TiO₂ is present (lab tested & verified, scientifically proven), otherwise the effect is minimal.
Patent Holding Brands dont have TiO₂ photocatalyst and instead of this, the brand claims they have HONEYCOMB structure.

Role Of Heat (Most Important) 🔥

Heat from sunlight helps desorb weakly adsorbed molecules from the carbon pores.
Impregnated activated carbon captures gases mainly through Van der Waals forces, which are weak physical attractions. When temperature increases:
= Adsorbed molecules gain energy
= They detach from micropores
= Some low molecular pollutants leave the carbon surface (ammonia, sulphur, fatty acids, aldehydes - 99.9% purification after 18 hours)
So sunlight heat can slightly regenerate the carbon.
However:
  • Sunlight usually heats carbon only to 40°C–70°C
  • Full regeneration normally requires 600°C–900°C in industrial processes
Therefore sunlight only gives very slight regeneration.

Patent Data Picture C

We can't see any innovative technology in this product. Only normal Linen fabric, Mesh Fabric and Kada Cloth. No more physical layer (Fourth Layer/Final Layer) present in the product, then how honey comb structure will come. The structure will only possible if we use honeycomb shape fabric (by using knitted net fabric; look like honeycomb shape) and fill the carbon granules in it, but it will not boost the adsorption (not proven anywhere).

🔬 Given Lab Data: What Will Be The Performance After 15 Mins

CONCLUSIONS

= Do not rely on brand marketing gimmicks or claims alone. Always verify lab reports, clinical study data, and AQI measurements to assess product performance. Based on the data from three brands, one was found to use misleading marketing and falsely present its product as the best in the market.
= According to the lab reports from three brands, none of the products—except PlantOrigen—were able to purify all toxic gases within 15 minutes.
= The lab data also shows that non-electric (passive) impregnated or activated carbon car air purifiers cannot function effectively without airflow from an AC fan or ventilation. Proper air circulation is essential; without it, the carbon media cannot perform efficiently.
= As per the lab data, Any claim that impregnated or activated carbon purifiers work effectively without airflow or achieve 90% efficiency when the engine is off (e.g., at night) is inaccurate. Activated or impregnated carbon only works when air passes through it, and without sufficient airflow, its effectiveness drops to below 5% except plantOrigen.
= Any brand claiming that activated or impregnated carbon can be fully recharged by 1–2 hours of sunlight once a month is misleading; in reality, only about 5–30% regeneration occurs, and efficiency drops with each cycle.
= Sunlight exposure mainly causes heating (around 40–70°C) and UV radiation, but their effects are limited and different.
= Heat can release some weakly trapped pollutants for minor refresh, while UV has almost no effect without a photocatalyst like TiO₂, so true regeneration requires very high temperatures (600–900°C), not sunlight.
